American Red Cross Mission
The Red Cross Story
The American Red Cross prevents and alleviates human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors.
The American Red Cross shelters, feeds and provides emotional support to victims of disasters; supplies about 40 percent of the nation's blood; teaches skills that save lives; provides international humanitarian aid; and supports military members and their families. The Red Cross is a non-profit organization that depends on volunteers and the generosity of the American public to perform its mission.

What is the Red Cross Club About?
A Red Cross Club is an extension of the local Red Cross unit, whether it is a Red Cross Chapter, Service to the Armed Forces (SAF) Station, or Blood Region. Therefore, aside from opportunities for training and leadership development, you will have the ability to choose mission-related activities that address your community’s needs while delivering the life-saving services of the Red Cross. You will plan and implement projects that will save hundreds of lives from blood drives to disaster preparedness education.
